Public Security and Social Defense
Abstract
The Military Police of Pará, a body of the State's direct administration, has the constitutional role of serving and protecting the people of Pará, preserving public order, and promoting the activity of the judicial police in terms of investigating military crimes within the state. It is important to highlight some actions (preventive and repressive) carried out by the Military Police of Pará in order to improve the quality of life of the population, in addition to ensuring greater security for society. In compliance with constitutional principles, the Corporation complies with the current legal system to promote social well-being, publicizing its administrative, contractual, financial, and budgetary acts, results achieved, and future goals, in order to allow control by society.
In this sense, the figure of “accountability” stands out, which includes conduct that provides citizen empowerment through oversight provided by the transparency of the Public Power, making the State accountable and promoting the necessary control and accountability.
