Abstract

On January 9, one day after the invasion and vandalism of the headquarters of the Three Branches of Government in the federal capital, 60 police officers from the Riot Battalion (BPCHOQ), specialized in crowd control, and from the Capital Police Command I (CPC I), who work in regular policing, were sent to support the Federal Government in its security work in the Federal District. The police officers acted under the coordination of the Ministry of Justice, through the National Force and the intervention in the Esplanada dos Ministérios Operation. On the same day of the invasion, the State Governor made the specialized PMPA troops available to collaborate in that moment of need and affirmation of stability and guarantee of order in the capital of Brazil. The objective was to collaborate with the federal institutions and the country's democracy, lending the best of the Pará Military Police troops so that they could be in the Federal District collaborating with the National Force and the entire security system.
