FOCAL POINT

The focal point is the military police officer responsible for preparing and presenting to the Permanent Committee of the Yearbook the content of the agency he represents, whether it is general, intermediate, sectoral, executive or support management of the Military Police of Pará, which will compose the publication of the Yearbook.

FORMAL RULES OF THE YEARBOOK

To produce this content, the focal point must be concerned with including relevant, concise, clear and objective information about the respective agency, such as, for example, a brief history, its attributions and responsibilities, as well as data and information related to the productivity indicators achieved by the actions and operations, in addition to reporting the acquisitions, works, reforms, advances and fundamental initiatives that marked a certain period of the Military Police of Pará that will be presented in the Yearbook.

Texts must be presented in “MSWord”, in A4 paper format (210x297mm), with top and left margins of 3.0 cm, bottom and right margins of 2.0 cm, paragraph indentation of the first line of 1.25 cm, justified alignment, line spacing of 1.5 cm and paragraph spacing of 0 pt before and 0 pt after.

The timeliness and relevance of the content in relation to the interests of the Yearbook and the Corporation must be taken into account, as well as the quality and accuracy of the data and arguments presented.

Drawings, graphs, maps, tables and photographs must contain a title and source, and be numbered. They may only be included in the Yearbook if they are visible and of high quality and in a format compatible with conversion to PDF format.

Publication Format: articles must be formatted according to the standards adopted by the yearbook (XML, HTML, PDF, etc.).

The quality of the figures and the layout of the Yearbook are crucial aspects to ensure a good reading experience and understanding of the contents. And for this to happen, it is necessary to consider some important points:

  1. Image Resolution: Figures must be provided in high resolution (300 DPI for printing) to ensure that the print is sharp and clear. DPI (Dots Per Inch) is the resolution of the image, which measures its sharpness and quality. The higher the DPI, the greater the definition and quality of the image;
  2. Visual Consistency: The layout must be consistent throughout the yearbook, following a graphic style that facilitates reading and understanding of the contents;
  3. Legibility: Texts and captions must be readable in both printed and digital format. The appropriate choice of fonts and text sizes is essential;
  4. Publication Standards: It is important to follow accepted publication standards to ensure that figures are formatted correctly and are easily understandable by readers;
  5. Quality Review: Before publication, it is recommended to carefully review all figures and layout to identify and correct any quality or formatting issues. These points help ensure that the yearbook offers a high-quality visual presentation and an enjoyable experience for its readers.

As part of the content development process, focal points are required to verify compliance with all items provided for in the yearbook's formal rules for content development. And any materials that do not comply with the standards will be returned to the focal points for corrections to the content.

When the focal point completes the development of the material, it must include the content in the PMPA Yearbook OJS platform, through the "Make new submission" tab.

Insert the original photo files in the same folder intended for posting the texts.

If you present tables and graphs, also post the Excel files you used so that the designers can insert this data into the “InDesign” program, which is the software used to design the Yearbook.
