Doctoral mission: the academic journey of the newest Doctor of Letters, Sergeant Josivane Campos.
Abstract
Born on the island of Cotijuba, in Belém, 3rd Sergeant Josivane do Carmo Campos, 38, is part of a select group of five active-duty military police officers from the PMPA who have completed postgraduate studies at the Doctorate level. The much-desired title of Doctor of Literature from the Federal University of Pará was not achieved overnight. In addition to her academic obligations, which involved field research, writing papers and traveling, she remained steadfast in her commitments to the Corporation, even becoming a member of the Independent Company of Special Operations (Cioe), now the Special Police Operations Battalion (BOPE). In this interview, Doctor Josivane, who has two children and more than 13 years in the Military Police, shares a little about her academic process, her career in the PMPA and her relationship with her family, which she considers her main source of encouragement.
