For three consecutive years, the Government of Pará has achieved consistent results in offering security to the population of Pará. The current administration managed to take Pará, in 2022, from the ranking of the most violent states in Brazil to the top among those that reduced crime the most. The reduction in crime in general seems to be associated with the significant increase in visible policing in public spaces. Pará municipalities that in the recent past were among the most violent in Brazil are now better policed.
