COP 30 E Segurança Pública: uma questão social e constitucional no contexto amazônico

Abstract

The Amazon region has always been a site of conflict and debate surrounding environmental issues, where discourses and projects focused on exploitation versus forest conservation were evident. However, the Amazon region's participation and integration within the globalized mode of production is undeniable, with the region playing a significant role in the export of various raw materials for the international industrial production chain. In this context, the city of Belém, Pará, will host the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 30) in 2025. This presents a unique opportunity to discuss policies to combat the illegal use of natural resources, environmental crimes, fires, and land grabbing, the constitutional role of public security in guaranteeing and protecting natural resources, as well as social awareness in their preservation through sustainable use, will be analyzed.
