Female Representation: the inspiring trajectory of 3rd Sergeant Darilene, the first Military Policewoman from Pará on a UN peacekeeping mission.
Abstract
Darilene Monteiro Moura, 36, a Military Police officer for 12 years, became, in 2018, the first woman from the State of Pará selected to join the group of Brazilian military personnel in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission for the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). She graduated in Literature and a degree in French from the Federal University of Pará, and served in Special Missions units, such as the current Motorized Tactical Patrol Battalion (ROTAM), the Mounted Police Regiment (RPMONT) and the Shock Police Battalion (BPChoq), where she currently serves. Her career is proof that, in the Military Police of Pará, women have been occupying, with quality, spaces previously restricted to men. The story of 3rd Sergeant Darilene, who has worked as a secretary, housekeeper, nanny, cashier and nursing technician, inspires everyone. And it shows the growth of women in the PMPA, today protagonists of important chapters for the Corporation, inside and outside the State. Due to such an important highlight, the PMPA Scientific Magazine brings this interview to continue praising the female presence that, this year, celebrates the 40th anniversary of the entry of Women into the highly worthy Corporation of Fontoura.
