The Border Violation Routes and Police Action in Times of the COVID-19 Pandemic: Case Study of the Border Post between Mozambique and South Africa (March to December).

This article raises a problem that is doubly related to public health and public safety by discussing and investigating border violation routes and police action during the Covid-19 pandemic at the border post between Mozambique and South Africa from March to December 2020. The research essentially sought to investigate border violation routes and police action during this time marked by Covid-19, using qualitative and quantitative methods. The study concludes that the culture of jumping barbed wire by Mozambican citizens themselves has been exacerbated by the application of restrictive measures in both territories. More worryingly, elements of the police regiment do not control the border, but rather set up along the routes to illegally charge for crossing.
